Thank goodness Charla called me yesterday because had she not called I would have totally missed Awana sign ups at church for the girls. I don’t know why I didn’t have it written down on my planner. I guess I’ve been overly preoccupied lately with things like healthcare, govt takeovers, and losing the freedoms I’ve come to cherish like free of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of press, freedom to assemble and petition the govt. It’s been absolutely nuts but in the end I have to remind myself that God is in control and I have got to snap out of it and not allow the negatives to overpower the positives.
So I got the girls all signed up yesterday. Fiona will start Sparks for the first time. I found out that Sparks will go for three years so I made sure to get her an XL vest. After all, it has to last for three years and you know how quickly kids fill stuff out.

What’s very cool about Awana this year is that Kinsley gets to participate in Cubbies. I knew she was going to be excited when she found out because she loved getting to tag along last year on the days that Don and I got to fill in, float, or help out wherever we could. I can tell she is ready and she memorizes bible verses like the little sponge that she is. I got a Medium sized vest for her because she only has to make hers last for two years.
This year I get to help out w/Cubbies a lot more. I’m excited to get to work with the kids and to see how Kinsley will do with her group. The other plus to this scenario is that Don will hopefully get to participate more too now that he doesn’t have to travel as much as he used to.
Now what is left is to get signed up for the Women’s Tuesday Morning Bible study. I’m thinking about taking the class about how to defend your faith. That might be a good one for me to take. Last year for the Beth Moore Esther study I didn’t get to finish it because of all the teen-aged drama going on in my house. So hopefully this year things will be a lot less drama-filled and I’ll be able to participate peacefully on Tuesday mornings with the other Moms.
Thanks for calling me Charla and reminding me about sign up! :]
