I Am Pooped

That’s my little Jumper Kinsley and my little Hang Glider Fiona. They LOVE participating in the AWANA Club program at church.

These are the verses Kinsley has memorized:

1 John 4:10 – He loved us and sent His Son
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned
Romans 5:8 – While we were sinners, Christ died for us
1 John 4:8 – God is love

You’ll notice that the verses are cut down. The reason for this is because 3 and 4 year olds can only memorize so much. Some of those verses are pretty big. Also, in Cubbies you don’t have to memorize the chapters or the verse numbers. Usually the kids can figure out the verse if you give them the first word to go by.

These are the verses Fiona has memorized:

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1 John 4:14 – the Father has sent his Son to be the Saviour of the world.

Psalm 147:5 – Great is our Lord and might in power

The neat thing about Sparks is that you can go at your own pace. Some kids can memorize four verses every week. I think that’s fantastic that there are kids that can do that. Fiona likes to memorize them one at a time.
