Lot’s of Stuff Going On

Lot’s of stuff going on so I will try and keep it short, sweet and to the point. :]

  • I skipped weigh-in-wed yesterday because I’m still 180 lbs. I’m not complaining. I of all people know how wonderful it is to be able to maintain and not gain.
  • Tandem Training was so good for me tonight. Being able to work out with my SIL is wonderful. It’s nice when you’re close to somebody and they know almost everything about you. Working out and hanging out with her at the gym is always a lot of fun. Our Tandem Trainer is super cool. She always goes out of her way to really work us and find fun and new things to do.
  • Some of you know that I stopped taking my Lexapro. It will be 2 weeks since I have been off the pills this Saturday. I was on it for 4 years. The side effects.. well.. let’s just say it was not very fun. I have great news! The side effects are subsiding and I keep getting better. So more and more I feel like myself again. The nightmares are going away. The shaky sort of feeling I was having is gone. The Insomnia is starting to go away. It’s really getting better.
  • Kinsley is about done with her cold. She had one of those super duper horrible colds where your nose keeps running, the skin turns raw, and you can’t stop coughing. Well, she’s on the mend. I was able to get her back to her friends at the gym today. The doctor had stated I could take her anywhere but I don’t think it’s fair to do that to the other kids. So we stayed away from people for awhile. Especially other kids. But today we got back to the gym and she had so much fun she zonked out at the kitchen table when we got home.

  • My Trainer is pretty fun lady to be around. I can tell that she cares about working us hard and making sure we have something to do until we see her again. Tonight she gave us some worksheets to read: Vitamin Myths [Busted], Beat Stress, Food Myths [Busted] and Portion Control. I’m gonna purchase a binder and start my book of motivation. I can do this. I know I can do this. I will do this.
  • Last night while Kinsley and I were waiting for Fiona to get done at Sparks we went to Sam’s Club. It’s the first time I’ve ever been to Sam’s Club and not spent over $100.00 – I was so proud of myself. It isn’t that I have issues with shopping… it’s more about the fact that I only spent $38.00 – that’s BIG for Sam’s Club shopping. I bought a Christmas DVD for the kids, 2 boxes of fruit snacks for the kiddos to have at church (they are always in need of donations), a package of my favorite gum in bulk, and a box of my favorite cereal. Yay!

Now you know why I haven’t been updating as much on this blog. With all the flu-like illnesses, H1N1 for me, coming off the SSRI, fighting all the symptoms, figuring out how I’m going to reteach myself how to deal with stress and the little things that tick me off, not working out like I should, well… it’s been a struggle.

One thing my trainer told me I can do is say the Serenity Prayer. She told me tonight that God is her everything and that I can give it up to him. Well… you know… in not so many words. She was doing everything she could to tell me the right things to help me combat this temporary situation. She knocked my socks off when she started talking about God and everything that He is for her life, etc. How cool do you think it was for me to know my Trainer is a believer. How cool is THAT?

Anyway, I am feeling better. I need to just DO IT. I’ll keep you posted when I can. Sometimes it will be a long one and sometimes it will be a short one. Sometimes it won’t be anything at all. But at least you’ve heard from me and now we can all get on with it. Ok, so if you are a prayer friend please pray for me to continue the battle coming off the SSRI. I know I can do. I know it’s the right thing for me. Maybe I will explain how I know it’s the right thing for me in another post on another day. TTYL! :]

I hope your daughter feels better and you are doing better than me with going to the gym. I have not really gone since February. I will try to start after the holidays. I have a few lbs in my thighs, abs and butt to lose. Good luck on you weightloss goals. Glad you like your trainer.
