I asked the same question over on Domestic Divapalooza. That blog of mine where I talk about politics and subjects most people don’t want to talk about. I knew when I posted that question earlier in the day I would miss all the blogs in my news reader where people would be writing about it tonight. I share my favorite 9.11.2001 tribute links, my own story of where I was on 9.11.2001, as well as who blogged it earlier today. What I hope to do over here on IamPooped.com is encourage those that read and participate in this part of the blogosphere to be encouraged to share your story in the comments section. If you have your own blog, by all means tell us where you were and link your blog post. I’d love to come check out your blog and read your story.

Real American Stories – I think this site is going to be one of my brand new favorite sites to come back to along with my other favorites that I listed over on angela-stevens.com – I just had to share it with you guys. I was watching the news tonight and this man’s story gave me chill bumps.

Creepy, Encouraging, and Divided

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation,” (Psalm 91:1-16, ESV).
Shane was generous with his time today and posted it on our network of bloggers via CheckupToday.com – Thanks so much Shane.

Where were you on September 11, 2001??
People did not just die on September 11, 2001
Remembering September 11, 2001
All of a sudden I feel overwhelmingly sad. So many lives lost on that day. The shocking way in which they lost their lives. Osama Bin Laden is still out there running around OR hiding in a cave. We are still at war with terrorists. Our country is divided. People have forgotten all about 9.11.2001 — some even tried to change what today was supposed to be about. No way! NYC still doesn’t have anything built to commemorate the people that vanished on that day. I honestly don’t know why they don’t put more towers taller and better than the first ones to show the rest of the world that they can’t hold us down. Then the other part of me thinks — who cares what they think anyway just put something nice in that spot. I was also wonderring what George Bush was doing today. This is the first 9.11 remembering where he wasn’t the President of the United States. What’s he doing to remember as a regular every day citizen? (I can’t wait for his book to come out. Maybe today he spent the day writing about 9.11.2001 in his book.)
I’d really love to know how all of you spent your day of reflection. I’d like to know where you were and what you were doing when it happened. Did you think it was real? Did you think we were being attacked? What went through your mind on that day?
