We’ve Got SNOW People!

This is what Fall is supposed to look like here in Omaha, Nebraska.

That’s the red bush in our front yard by the garage. This next one are the leaves from the tree in our front yard.

That tree is pretty right now. Half the leaves are green, waiting to turn, and the other half are a gorgeous shade of yellow. Or so they WERE … now they are … WHITE and full of SNOW.

Yep … we got SNOW. Right now the SNOW is floating around aimlessly trying to stop. I’m glad it’s snowing. I know that sounds crazy but this pollen count was WAY too much for me to handle this year.

Remember my Beautiful Tall Zenias?

They are top-heavy right now and probably wonderring what in the heck is going on. There were still many that were waiting to bloom. These flowers bloom ALL summer and into the fall. I grow them from seeds every year.

I get to see so many cool things from the front window of my house. My desk is set up there and sometimes when I’m typing something out on the keyboard, all I have to do is glance to the left and I see beauty everywhere. God is so good. He knew exactly what he was doing when he put it all together.

Green, Yellow, and White are the colors on that tree in the front yard. By now the snow is trying to stop.

I suppose I should take a moment to update all of you on Fiona. This morning is the first morning in 4 days that she does not have a fever. We are still keeping her separated from Kinsley and she is still taking her Tamiflu. The last of the Tamiflu will end tomorrow night.

I am hoping that she can go all day without a fever so that we can go all day without a fever tomorrow. The doctor said she could be fever-free for 24 hours before she starts going back out again but I think my motherly instincts are telling me 48 hours would be better and that way she could go back to school on Monday. We’ll see how it goes. If she breaks into a fever today we’ll have to start over again.

We have been very lucky that it’s not been too bad. Don, Kinsley and I actually went in yesterday to get our regular flu shots. The doctor was concerned about Fiona enough that they had Don bring her in real quick to do one more strep test. It was negative. They didn’t repeat the flu test because we are pretty certain it’s flu. Whether it’s h1n1 … we have no idea. All we know is that no matter which flu it is the treatment is the same. Lots of fluids, Tamiflu, and Tylenol. Oh and keeping them away from the rest of the family so that we don’t get sick.

Right now we are keeping her in the Master Bedroom and since Don has already been exposed  he has been hanging out with her at bed time. Kinsley has been by  herself in her room at night but downstairs with me during the day. Me … I’ve been sleeping in the recliner or the couch. I  know I could probably sleep in Lauren’s room or Fiona’s room but I am a sucker for late night television and the couch is closer. Plus, I like the cooler air that I get at night on the main floor vs. the heated stuffier air upstairs.

That’s all I have for now. As I finish typing up this post it has stopped snowing. It’s so pretty outside.

So jealous of your snow! I’m hoping we’ll get some this year. So afar, we’ve only had a few leaves fall. Glad to hear your baby’s doing better. I’ll keep praying for her, and for you & Kinsley so y’all don’t get sick, either.

I just checked her temperature and it was 96.1 — hmmm. Thank you for praying for her. I believe in the power of prayer. It’s so nice to have praying friends.
