Today I’m in one of those moods to write about random things that are happening in my life in no particular order.
I am Pooped News: I’ve been playing around with the set up of this site, can you tell? I added some Google Ads, some Affiliate Programs I belong to, some Twittering that I do, a traffic feed so I can figure out how you guys are finding me, and more Google Ads. I also added a little section, (Angela) so you guys can see other places I’m at. At some point I want to put up a section that shows my family members so you can see who we are and what we look like. A lot of the ladies from church do this on their blogs and think it’s pretty cool.
On the Political Front: I’m frustrated with the direction that our nation is headed. We are heading towards socialism and I’m not happy about that. The step after socialism points toward communism and I shudder even more at that possibility because of what that means to me being able to have religious expression. I’m trying hard not to go there but you know, I can’t help it.
Last night I was watching the news and saw that they gave out more money for TARP than they were supposed to. I was irritated. They are spending money that we don’t have AND over spending on top of it. They didn’t even bother to tell us about it. I wouldn’t be surprised if we start getting I-owe-U’s when we go to file our tax returns. Barack Obama was suppose to be the President of Change according to those that voted for him. PUKE! This weekend they are supposed to vote on this scamulous bill that will spend the money of our children and grandchildren until only God knows when..?
I’m frustrated with “christians” that voted for Barack Obama. I’m not in anyway attempting to question anybody’s faith BUT when you vote for a guy that is the most liberal, most PRO-ABORTION man that ever walked the face of the earth – it makes me stop and THINK. What in the heck are “christians” thinking? How could you have voted for this man? Where do you have your faith stored?
Blog Mommas News: It’s official! I’m a Blogmommas.com contributor and SO excited about it. The ladies over there asked me to come and join them as a contributor. I was so happy about it because I have been waiting for a long time to be a part of something special. This is going to be a fun project. It’s nice to be able to work with people that I admire, respect, and who share the same morals, values, and beliefs that I do. It’s not always easy to find people like that. I had to learn the hard way that sometimes God puts us with bad people so we can open up our eyes to the Good people that were staring us in the face all along. Can I say, DUH!?
On the Family Front: I don’t understand why my kids don’t like to play in their rooms. It’s becoming quite clear that they are spending WAY too much time in front of the television. Just a bit ago, I sent Fiona up to her room to play until lunch was ready and you would have thought somebody stole her Mamma’s Blanket. She just does NOT like to spend time in her room, by herself, playing and letting her imagination run wild. Kinsley on the other hand, loves playing in her room by herself. Fiona, she has to have human contact at all times.
Kinsley is totally potty trained BUT she is having trouble with POOP. I don’t understand what it is about POOP that toddlers have such a hard time with. I always feel so much better after I poop. You would think that they would look forward to being able to get the poop out, right? Kinsley likes to poop in her pants standing up. I just don’t get it. Trying to poop in your pants standing up is so much harder than sitting on the toilet and putting your poop in the pot, right?
Now you guys know part of why I am Pooped. LOL
On the excercise front: I went to the gym day before yesterday and had a great workout. I did 15 minutes on the elliptical, 20 minutes on the treadmill running the commercials and walking the program (Glenn Beck was on), and then I hit the track with a fast walk and did 100 crunches in 25 count increments on the core bench. My abdomen is sore so I guess that means I did good.
We just finished up lunch. I had a salad, 3 chicken things, and some water. The kids are going to take a nap, Don is going to go grocery shopping, and I’m going to run/walk on our treadmill down in the basement. I will attempt more crunches and do some weight lifting after I run/walk. I’ve decided on the days that I can’t get to the gym, I’ve got to figure out a way to get myself on the treadmill in the basement. After all, that is why we bought the darn thing.
On the teen front: There is always drama. Lauren has all city all day today and wants to be able to bring a friend home with her tonight to spend the night. She has a midnight curfew BUT Don and I don’t feel that it’s cool to be bringing home friends to spend the night at midnight. Of course Lauren has a problem with this and thinks our rules are dumb. Whatever!? We have church tomorrow, she has to work tomorrow and they would have to be out of the house before we left for church anyway.. so I don’t see how she thinks our rules our dumb. To be honest, she picked a bad night to have friends spend the night anyway. It’s not like we told her no all-together. We told her she could have a friend over if they were home by 10:00-10:30 — she thinks that’s dumb.
No matter what happens in this country OR in my life, God is in control. God will win ALWAYS, no matter what. He wins and Satan loses. Are you reading Satan? You LOSE! So bring it on spiritual warfare — I am ready! I am not afraid! God is always with me and He always wins. Take THAT Satan and go play with somebody else cuz you’re NOT playing with me.
In JESUS name, AMEN!

Wow Angela! God is doing a change. I don’t know why Obama got elected, well, I take that back, I do know why he got elected. Too many people voted for him. I do know that everything happens for a reason and that we are living in the last days. I don’t know how close we are to the coming of Jesus. It could be another 100 years, who knows, but I do know that things are happening so quickly. It is frustrating to see things happening the way that they are. I also know that we need to be praying for this nation more than ever, and we need to speak out. It isn’t okay just to sit back and do nothing.
That is so funny about Kinsley and the non-pooping situation. Kailey hated to poop in the pot as well. She was scared of it. Then after about a year of fighting her about it, she finally gave in. Just hang in there.
Kinsley is the just the opposite of Fiona. Fiona is just more of a social bug. They are both so cute! I miss them!
I know that you know this, but Lauren will appreciate the rules when she gets older. She will realize that you guys were looking after her best interest and not out to get her. I thought that my parents rules were dumb and they were stricter than you and Don’s rules. I appreciate what they did for me now.
Well, I am in the process of dying my hair and cleaning the house before Chris gets home. I am almost finished with everything! YEAH! Love you

This Christian voted for Obama because I do not believe that the other party cares about the people that Jesus spent most of his time ministering to. The poor, the disenfranchised, the least of us. What good is a government if it allows those people to not have a voice or stake. I resent that the republicans think that they have a monopoly on what is Christian and what isn’t. There is plenty of room for disagreement. I hate that Christianity on the right has been reduced to abortion and homosexuality with no thought or care given to the 2.8 million working poor families (that is 12.2 million people). I hate that Christians are OK with health care being a privilege in a country as wealthy (even in our current economic state) as we are. It disgusts me that prejudice is cloaked in religiosity and tolerated. So yes, I voted for Obama. I want my government to focus on problems they can change–I know what the bible says about homosexuality–but guess what, outlawing gay marriage isn’t going to cause people to go “you know what, since I can’t get married, I won’t be gay anymore”. If Christians really cared about traditional families, there would be outrage about the divorce rate in the Christian family, it is 50% (about the same as non believers). Banning aborition is not going to end abortion–women will just die along with their babies. While we are talking about the sacredness of life, if life is really sacred, I want the same picketers at abortion clinics at every execution (in Texas that is a full time job). I wish people would spend their time and energy on eradicating poverty, ending hunger, helping others, building up instead of tearing down. I know it irritates the right that Obama talks about hope and change, but if you don’t have hope, why bother? Both Republicans and Democrats have ideologies that do not line up with the bible. Neither of us should feel smug about any of the choices for leadership we were offered this past election because they were all tainted. Our best hope is the same one I have employed from Clinton on–prayer, prayer, prayer. For our nation, for our leaders, for each other.

LaDawn,
You said, “I know it irritates the right that Obama talks about hope and change, but if you don’t have hope, why bother?”
My HOPE is in the One Almighty God. No government or politician or Barack Obama can give me hope. Whether it be poverty, divorce, abortion, or gay marriage, you’re looking for government to solve problems that only God can.

I often ask myself, if God were me, who would He have voted for?
There are believers that voted for Obama and believers that did not vote for Obama. I’m frustrated with believers that voted for Obama. I don’t understand how a believer could have voted for him? I’m sorry if this is offensive to you. Please try not to take it personally. It’s merely a frustration that I have because I do not understand why?
I am a big believer in that the Lord helps those that help themselves. Believers on both sides are doing good things to help people that are less fortunate. That is where giving the first percentage of what we earn comes in. There are also other ways we can give with our time and our talents too. The American people are great people when it comes to giving to help those that are less fortunate. It’s not the government’s place to force us to do what we are already required by God to do. Do we agree on that?
“The poor, the disenfranchised, the least of us.”
I am frustrated with believers that voted for Obama that do not believe that aborted babies are “poor, disenfranchised” or “the least of us.” Barack Obama is the most Liberal senator in US history. He is the most pro-abortion President that ever walked the face of the planet. Look at his record as a US Senator in Illinois. He was quite clear on his stance on abortion as well as partial birth abortion. This is the part that is frustrating to me. I don’t understand how an unborn baby is not included as “the poor, the disenfranchised, the least of us.”
It’s not easy for me to speak up and tell somebody that I know is a believer and say to them that they are pro-lifers who voted for a pro-abortion president. It’s not easy for me to do. But, somebody has to say it, right? Or am I supposed to just ignore it?
Christians on the right… so does this mean you consider yourself to be a Christian on the left? What about the fact that most Democrats on the left seek to do harm to the 2.8 million poor working families that you mentioned? Most Democrats are all about raising working families taxes. Who do you think employs the poor working families? What is your definition of a poor working family? What is your definition of poor? Are we talking about poor financially, poor in spirit, OR both?
I’ve never known anybody that didn’t put their mind to something not to be successful at it. So I have to take issue with the fact that somehow the left seems to think it’s a crime to work hard and to keep trying. Doesn’t God help those that help themselves? Hasn’t God been faithful to us when we were down and out?
It’s not the government’s job to take the place of personal responsibility. People need to get up out of their chairs (if they are able to) and do whatever it takes to make it work. I have absolutely NO empathy for the individual that has made our welfare system a career. NO empathy whatsoever. Where is the personal responsibility and/or accountability? How is that fair to people that could really use the help but there is nothing left because people are greedy OR lazy? If I want something done, I do it myself. I take responsibility. I don’t look for the government for help. Our government wants to control us. I don’t want the government to control us.
The problem with believers today is that we believe parts of the bible and not the whole bible. We know what God says about homosexuality but we want to pretend we can work around what the bible says and that everything will be ok as a result. We (sinners) always make things worse and God is such a simple God. He makes it easy. We make it hard.
Our Government can’t fix our problems. Only we (with God’s blessing) can fix our problems.
The fact is, there are people that think they are pro life who chose to vote for a pro abortion president. Abortion is not the only issue to focus on BUT, it’s a good start if you want to start somewhere since unborn babies don’t seem to have a voice.
