Weigh In Wed: 173

I’m down 12 lbs – Crazy Huh? I’m seriously going to have to find a tape measure so I can see how many inches I’ve lost. It has to be a considerable amount because I was able to purchase size 14 pants the other day before I told the lady I would be back soon for the size 12 pants. Ha Ha! It’s starting to feel as if this weight loss thing, in spite of my hypothyroid, is totally possible. I just have to keep working those muscles, pushing the cardio, and working those abs.

Here’s what I did last time – There’s not going to be as much physical activity for this week but that’s only because we were so super busy. You’ll see what I mean. You will see more “Breaks” than normal. That’s ok. Sometimes you get busy days like that. You just have to stay motivated emotionally and know that it’s not going to be permanent.

Here’s what I did this week:

  • Feb 24th – Break & Abs
  • Feb 25th – Break & Abs
  • Feb 26th – 3.0 miles on the treadmill, weights & abs
  • Feb 27th – 1.5 miles on the treadmill, 1.0 mile on the elliptical, weights & abs
  • Feb 28th – Break
  • Mar 1st – 2.5 miles on the treadmill, weights & abs
  • Mar 2nd – HaPPY BiRTHDAY TO ME! – Break

So here’s where I’m at this week:

  • Start Weight = 185
  • Current Weight = 173
  • I’ve Lost 12
  • My Goal = 150
  • 23 Left To Lose

I wouldn’t mind being between 160 – 165 before my trip to Las Vegas. We’ll see how far I can take that between now and then.

Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you! Shout loud, “I am lucky to be what I am! Thank goodness I’m not just a clam or a ham OR a dusty old jar of sour gooseberry jam! I am what I am! That’s a great thing to be! If I say so myself, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!” -Dr. Seuss

Today has been a Great Day for turning The Big Four-Oh! We woke up this morning, got dressed, and hit the road for some breakfast at Village Inn. Fiona ordered scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and toast with apple juice. I ordered the ultimate skillet and pancakes with coffee.

Fiona’s nails are BeAuTiFuL! We did them last night. I told the girls we could do fingers and toes since it was a special occasion. They were excited. Can you tell? After breakfast we swung by the house to pick up Kinsley (she was having issues earlier) and off we went to Fiona’s school.

Fiona’s kindergarten teacher invited me to come and read a Dr. Seuss book to the class. She told me I could bring two. Fiona and I chose I Had Trouble In Getting To Solla Sollew and Happy Birthday To You. When Fiona’s class found out it was my birthday too they all sang happy birthday to me. I think they Loved the story because it’s not one most kids get to hear all that often.

If we didn’t have birthdays, you wouldn’t be you. If you’d never been born, well then what would you do? If you’d never been born, well then what would you be? You might be a fish! Or a toad in a tree! You might be a doorknob! Or three baked potatoes! You might be a bag full of hard green tomatoes. Or worse than all that…Why, you might be a WASN’T! A Wasn’t has no fun at all. No, he doesn’t. A wasn’t just isn’t. He just isn’t present. But you…You ARE YOU! And, now isn’t that pleasant! -Dr. Seuss

The Big Four-Oh!

I laughed my butt off when I got this from my friends on Saturday. Too Funny!

The top of the box got cut off during the scan process. It said, “Help for the newly turned FORTY-YEAR-OLD! My favorite part of the front of the box is where is says, “Contains 100% Pure Damitall” which is PERFECT for ME. : )

LORDY, LORDY, LOOK WHO’S FORTY! There’s no hiding from the Big Four-Oh!

Ha Ha Ha! I thought that was the funniest part on the back of the box. I haven’t actually opened the box yet to see what’s inside. I would imagine it’s some form of candy. Aren’t my friends Great!? This made my day!

Tomorrow is my actual birthday. I share a birthday with Dr. Seuss. Bet you guys didn’t know that, huh? I’m looking forward to tomorrow. Fiona, Kinsley and I will be getting up early to head out to have a birthday breakfast some time before Kindergarten. After breakfast we are headed to school. I’ll be sporting a Dr. Seuss Hat and reading a Dr. Seuss book to Fiona’s Kindergarten class. She is very excited about it and so am I.

I’m Down 12 lbs : )

Inside the card it says: You’re 40? I’ll drink to that! Happy Birthday ~ Happy 40th Birthday! Enjoy your special day. Love, Josh & Danielle : )

I was 176 and now I’m 173. I am stoked about that too. I couldn’t be happier! I know it’s not Wed but you know the deal with me…I’m gonna post it when I get it. I have to take what I can get when I get it and that’s just how it’s going to roll around these parts. Every time I improve and get closer to my goal it’s going up!

Weigh In Wed: 176

It’s been fun tweeting my workout when I’m on the treadmill. It gives me something to do. It keeps me from getting bored. Let’s face it, the radio doesn’t always have the songs I want to hear. The television doesn’t always have what I want to watch. Tweeting is fun. I know, I am spoiled.

I like to do a number of moves on the treadmill just to mix it up so my body doesn’t get used to me doing things one way. During the fast songs I like to run. During the slow songs I like to walk. During the commercials on the radio I like to climb. Sometimes when I’m climbing I will start at a 3.0 incline and then as each commercial passes I will bump it up 1/2 a point. When the commercials are over I lower it back to 1.0 so I can pick up a fast paced walk OR run.

Here’s what I did last week – I am enjoying the accountability list on Twitter. I have two friends from high school on there and I am grateful for their interest in being accountable and just being able to share with each other what type of workout we did that day…well…it’s fun.

Here’s what I did this week:

  • Feb 17th – Break
  • Feb 18th – 3.0 miles on the treadmill & abs
  • Feb 19th – Break
  • Feb 20th – 4.25 miles on the treadmill & abs
  • Feb 21st – X Training & Abs
  • Feb 22nd – 2.5 miles on the treadmill & arms/abs workout w/trainer (30 min freebie)
  • I Love My Trainer! She Rocks! Her Freebies Rock! : )
  • Feb 23rd – Break

I’m Down 9 lbs : ) – I was so excited about what the scale told me last week I didn’t want to wait until this week to share it with you. Any time I have an improvement I’ll probably go ahead and let you guys know about it right away! This is exciting for me because it’s a breakthrough. My brain and my muscles are starting to understand that I am happier when I am lighter. At some point I know I will need to measure myself because usually when the weight starts to drop that means the inches are starting to disappear. It’s all good! So here’s where I am at this week:

  • Start Weight = 185
  • Current Weight = 176
  • I’ve Lost 9
  • My Goal = 150
  • 26 Left To Lose

Random Thought Tues: Everything Blows!

Everything Blows!

Well… Almost Everything…?

This country is fading fast and one day everyone is going to wake up and wonder what happened?

You want some random thoughts on tuesday?

I will give you some random thoughts but be warned:

I have a lengthy list and I’m feeling the need to Throw Up!

Now, during the 2008 campaign, President Obama admitted he did not have a lot of experience. But he told us what he did have was wisdom and judgment — (laughter) — the kind of wisdom he said we would need in a nation facing tough crises. Well, the record is now clear. A wise man would not give the mastermind of 9/11 a platform in civilian court on American soil from which to preach jihad. (Applause.) A wise man would not usher al Qaeda-trained terrorists onto American soil. (Applause.) A wise man wouldn’t fret about whether a terrorist had been read his Miranda rights. (Applause.) And a wise man would hire better people. (Cheers, applause.)

Praise You In This Storm

Praise You In This Storm
by: Casting Crowns

I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say “Amen”, and it’s still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can’t find You

But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
“I’m with you”
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

And I’ll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I’ve cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I just wanted to dedicate this song to my friend Kelly. I know first hand how hard it is to get over something like this and I just want you to know that I am praying for you and your family.

I’m Down 9 lbs : )

I know it’s not Weigh In Wed but I couldn’t very well go to bed and not tell you guys that I am down 9 lbs. I know, I can hardly believe it myself.

I don’t know what it was about today but I just got this strange feeling that I should weigh myself. I had this empty feeling inside. I wasn’t hungry. I have been drinking my water. I’ve been working out. It was weird. It was just a feeling that something was missing.

When I stepped on the scale I had my clothes on. I didn’t really think much about it until after I stepped on the scale and saw the dial around the 178 mark. After I came down stairs I got to thinking to myself, “wait a minute! that was with clothes on!” So I ran back up stairs, took it all off and sure enough the dial hit the 176 mark. Yay!!!

I’m telling you guys it’s so much better to just update the good news as soon as you get it because you don’t know how long it’s going to last. If I haven’t made any progress I really don’t want to post my actual weigh in on Wednesdays. I just want to take it when I can get it and post it right away. So here is where I’m at:

I’m going to Las Vegas next month. I’m wondering where I can take this weight loss to before my trip. It’s kind of exciting! I can’t believe it’s starting to turn. I thought because of my Hypothyroid it would be very hard for it to come off and it has been! But now that I’m starting to make progress I feel like my momentum is up along with my spirits. Yay!!!! : )

Now I can go to bed. I’m so glad I told you guys about it.

Weigh In Wed: Twitter & Accountability

I started an accountability list on Twitter. There are a few of us getting together on Twitter to Tweet some of our workouts and to Tweet each other encouragement to keep pushing and moving. If you would like to join my accountability list on Twitter all you have to do is friend me @Divapalooza and tell me that you are interested in being part of that list. You can’t miss it because I call the list “accountability” – I must give you a heads up about my Twittering. I have 3K followers and I do Tweet everything from Politics to Working Out to Whatever is running around inside my mind. So be prepared for that.

  • Feb 10th – 2.0 miles on the treadmill & abs
  • Feb 11th – Cardio & Abs
  • Feb 12th – X Training & Abs
  • Feb 13th – Break
  • Feb 14th – Tandem Training & Abs
  • Feb 15th – Break
  • Feb 16th – Tandem Training Birthday Freebie

As I was typing out my accomplishments above I was thinking to myself that I should do an Ab Workout even on the days where I have taken a Break. We’ll see if I can remember to do that.

Yesterday I went to Sports Authority and purchased a pair of Aasics and a pair of New Balance. You know it’s time to get some new running shoes when your feet are hanging out of the shoe structure. Seriously, if your feet don’t have good support and your shoes have no traction you can really cause some damage. It also throws off your balance and your posture when working out.

I decided that I was going to keep the New Balance running shoes for the gym because the pair that I found has the best support. I will wear those at the gym and not out and about on the streets. The Aasics that I found were on sale. They have great support and it’s what my old running shoes were. I will wear that pair inside my house and when I’m running errands or relaxing. If I only wear the New Balance running shoes at the gym they might last a lot longer.

There is a great sale going on at Sports Authority here in town. I’m not sure if it’s a Nation-Wide sale but they do have a lot of workout shoes on clearance. I can tell that our economy is suffering. There were not that many people shopping in the middle of the day. Always remember that your feet need excellent support whether you are working out or not.

Until Next Wednesday.. that is my Weigh In Wed for this last week. I hope to see you over on Twitter Tweeting your Workouts w/Me! Sometimes I Tweet from my cell phone when I’m on the treadmill at home. Here’s last weeks Weigh In Wed.

Random Thought Tues: Forts, Flowers & Friendship

This is what the girls did all day yesterday. They ran all over the house, picked it apart and built Forts. Big , medium and small forts under the sofa table.

Aren’t these Flowers beautiful? Kinsley said, “Happy Balentimes Day Mom!”

These two are the best of friends. They will play, scream, yell, chase, tickle, hug, sneak and snuggle up to each other all day long if you let them. I hope and pray this will be their most important Friendship.
